BODEGAS MASAVEU
Federico Masaveu Rivell was the first in the family to venture into the world of winemaking in the 19th century, owning vineyards in Castellar del Vallés. However, it was not until 1974 when the Masaveu family decided to follow in his footsteps with the purchase of Bodegas Murua. These wines are renowned for their quality and their respect for the land. All the wines are crafted with fruit from our own estates, our aim being to transmit the personality of the land in each and every bottle: We are present in the most important designations of origin in Spain: Murua (Rioja Alavesa), Fillaboa (RiasBaixas), Pagos de Araiz (Navarra) and our cider factory, Valverán (Asturias). The wine division also holds shares in Bodegas Leda (Tierras de Castilla y León) and Bodegas Aalto, in the Ribera de Duero area.

ALBERTO LONGO
In the heart of Northern Apulia, in Lucera, an area with high historical and environmental value, the Winery of Alberto Longo has its roots in an extraordianry anthropological and cultural context. Since 1968 the founders, Adele and Giovanni Longo and then their son Alberto, share a passion for producing quality wines valorising the nearly forgotten appellation Cacc’e Mmitte di Lucera, among the first DOCs in Puglia to be established and recognized in 1976, and its main grape variety Nero di Troia. Today, with their 35 hectare vineyard, educated in trellis and meticulously maintained and their winery situated in the old farmhouse Fattoria Vacalli from 1800, the Longo family has been able to integrate the latest winemaking technologies with traditional vineyard management and grape processing, entrusting the skilful hand of the famous winemaker Graziana Grassini and the invaluable help of old family techniques such as soft pressing of the grapes after a long maceration on the skins and the use of concrete tanks. All this to express at its best the uniqueness of terroir and winery. The aging of the most capable red wines, takes place in wooden barrels, casks and barriques of first, second and third usage under the historical vaults that were home to ancient underground tanks.

CLOS JUNET SAINT-EMILION
This small three-hectare (7,5-acre) vineyard is located on the gentle slopes of a sandy incline, which lies to the west of the Saint-Emilion limestone plateau. It comes from a family property acquired in the 19th century by the present owner, Patrick Junet’s great grandfather. The Merlot and Cabernet Franc grape varieties grow here in ancient beds of sand with veins of red clay running through the sub-soil. Together, these features give Clos Junet wines their distinctive aromas and their supple, round mouthfeel. The quantities produced are deliberately limited and the vines are constantly tended with great care. The wines are made and aged, taking into account the specific needs of each harvest. All these efforts are made to ensure that Clos Junet’s organoleptic qualities benefit from the very best expression possible. These qualities are often referred to in various guides and awarded distinctions by the juries of international competitions.

LE` RAGNAIE
We have the distinct fortune of being able to coltivate our vines in three diverse micro climates in Montalcino. This allows us to offer three different types of Brunello each a testament to the land it was grown in.
Our vines are 100% Sangiovese and are worked following the strict guidelines of organic agriculture: we do not use any chemicals with the exception of a bordeux mixture and powdered sulfur, always staying within the limits set by the guidelines of the biological agriculture association. We do not use fertilizer instead we plant cover crops which in the Fall these plants consist of legumes, clovers and grasses.
This cover crop helps to regenerate the land after a long summer season of work. They also aid in enriching the organic substance of the land all the while penetrating deeply the roots of the various planted species.
Moreover the diversity of plants in the vineyard prevents superficial erosion and instead favors the absorption of water and creates an important habitat for many species of animals and insects. This process guarantees the formation of an ecosystem full of life which is essential to the health of the vines.
Le Ragnaie vineyards vary between 5 and 40 years of age. They are planted in the central zone of Montalcino with a south-west exposition to the sun and facing the sea. The altitude of the vineyard varies between 530 and 600 meters which allows for the harvest to begin in the second half of October. The wine from this vineyard has an elegant taste and a beautiful aroma on the nose. The vines are surrounded by an oak forest, olive groves and a small lake. An ideal habitat for animals and insects.

CASTELLO DI NEIVE
Castello di Neive and its 150 acre estate are owned by the Stupino brothers and sisters – Anna, Giulio, Italo e Piera. They were all born in Neive, and so were their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents.The history of the company began when their father, Giacomo, started to capitalize on both his experience as a surveyor and on his knowledge of the area, and to purchase, whenever possible, vineyards and land in extremely favourable locations. In the small cellars of their home, they began the first production of wine for domestic consumption and to sell in bulk.
This is was a turning point which urged the family to renovate the castle’s cellars, to reorganize the vineyards neglected by the previous owners and to produce wine according to modern methods. When Giacomo died, in 1970, Giulio end Italo oversaw the transition from tenant farming to direct management of the land, with the precious help of Talin Brunettini, skilful cellar man with a knowledge in agronomic techniques. It is at this time that Castello di Neive began to bottle its wines and to introduce them to the rest of Italy and abroad.
In 1978 another rewarding step: thanks to the collaboration between Italo and some experts from the University of Turin – professors Italo Eynard and Annibale Gandini – Castello di Neive started a clonal selection programme of Arneis, a grape long forgotten and abandoned because of its scarce productivity and lack of knowledge in white wine vinification.

CASCINA BALLARIN
Today at Cascina Ballarin we grow grapes in our own vineyards in La Morra, Monforte d’Alba, Novello and produce wine in our own cellar. Barolo is our main wine. Different types of Barolo are produced separately from different vineyards in order to preserve the nuances that different types of soil offer. In addition, we produce Barbera d’Alba , Dolcetto d’Alba , Langhe Rosso e Langhe Bianco.
The entire family works at Cascina Ballarin, each member taking care of different tasks: from the work in the vineyards to the production of the grapes to the wine-making process. After ageing the various wines for the specific amount of time, they are bottled and sold under our own name CASCINA BALLARIN
The final quality of our wines is at the core of all operations, along with the respect of the environment and nature and the employment of sustainable practices. Cascina Ballarin organizes, upon reservation, guided tours and tastings for small and large groups, and proposes food and wine pairings with some traditional local products, particularly cheese and cold cuts.

Together with Brigitte, our parents then expanded the field from 5 hectares to 20 hectares and continued to develop the business in France and abroad. Since 2010, Arnaud and David continue to write the field’s history with the enlargement of the cellar in 2012 in anticipation of the field’s new projects: Taking the reins of another family field(created by our maternal grandparents) in Bourgogne Epineul and Bourgogne Tonnerre.
